I think I enjoy drawing silhouette first as chunks of gray, and then going over that with line work. It gives my brain something to look at instantly; and it feels like my mind can think in terms of silhouette better than just lines. At least in the beginning stages.

My eyes have been causing me issues again. The last week or so has been rather tedious with struggling with sensitive, sore and itchy eyes. It finally got a bit too bad this weekend and so I saw the doctor. Which sucked because I couldn't do any work. I have medication now and it seems to be easing already. So I decided to risk it and do a drawing, I've had my new Cintiq nearly a week now and barely used it. I might have write a review on it at some point, but my first impressions are good. I love this thing, best thing I've ever purchased.

I want to do a series of pinup images that involve trains for some reason. As if I don't get enough of trains at work; but I figure it's something I've never seen before, so why not?

Here's some sketches experimenting with the idea.

Today I had life drawing class. Here are the results. Excuse the terrible photos. The flash on my phone won't work currently as the battery is too low; not that it would make that much difference. I need a scanner. That's the next thing to buy now I have managed to purchase my new tablet.

2nd February 2014 - Train girl pinup progress

Weekend is over already. Wow. I think I've resided myself to expecting to get nothing done for the majority of the weekend. I guess it's a good thing, as I spend the most part of the weekdays burning myself out. I tend to work at my job on 3D and come home and paint till late. So It's good to get some rest.

Back on this model train pinup though, I like where it is going! I've ordered myself a new Wacom Cintiq 13HD too, so I'm really looking forward to playing with that.
